The key to effective fitness and training is to get to know yourself. The power of introspection allows you to develop a deep understanding of everything you will learn during your journey.

Danny Kavadlo, along with his brother Al Kavadlo, is an authority on gymnastics and fitness.

He says: “It is important to understand that even with a given program, you must always be ready to improvise. No one who has ever met you can create a precise program. There will always be a need for Intuition in training.”

In other words, it’s up to you to step in and determine what works.

The Enthusiast and the Occasional Exerciser

The Fitness world is an automatic filtering machine that separates amateurs from casual users. This separation does not mean discrimination, but that’s the way it is.

The amateur and the casual coach do not think the same thing, they do not experience the same thing and, above all, they do not have the same beliefs.

Here’s an example, a casual coach will always look to his environment for motivation, but as far as Al and Danny are concerned:

Everyone can train if they are motivated! It is work when you are not motivated that leads to success. In terms of career, it’s the same thing.”

The rules of the game are quite simple; you have to show up and take your time. Another level of discipline and strength that perfectionists seek is called true strength. Danny et al. describe the true force beyond the body.

This statement does not intend to discredit people whose goal is to look good or do the bare minimum to be healthy.

But in 2021, the true meaning behind the words strength and health has become a raw and philosophical form.

If you are not feeling inspired by reading yet, you should be here. Danny describes body strength this way: “For me, true body strength is the ability to freely navigate this world. This is both a pound-for-pound force and an absolute force. A combination of strength, balance and agility.”

Although many of us don’t include balance or mobility in our workouts, these aspects are certainly part of the equation when it comes to long-term fitness.

Challenge your strength

For us, strength building is not just about lifting heavy weights, running Ultramarathons or scoring the most points. It’s about personal development and the desire to surpass yourself, to see how far you can go.

It’s about taking on the challenge ahead and taking it as a lesson. Therefore, no program can change your life. You have to adapt it to your own needs and situations.

Regular exercise or exercise is important. It regulates your blood flow, eliminates toxins in your body and helps you clear your head. But if you are willing to go further and immerse yourself in the mindset, you will learn a lot more about yourself and develop more than body strength.

According to Danny, “I would also include mental strength, emotional well-being, compassion and a willingness to help others, and I would be bodily inflexible.”

Unfortunately, the future of the fitness industry may be uncertain at this point. Many people see it as a luxury, when in fact it should be an essential business.

Danny Kavadlo said: “Although I am sad about the devastation of the industry, I am sadder about the destruction of overall health that these mandates entail: children who do not go to school, who get off, domestic roughness, self-destruction, alcoholism and medicine mis-word mistakes. People need to exercise more than ever and, ironically, this is inadvisable in the name of health.”

If you’re reading this, I hope your next steps will be to sign up for the gym, spend an extra hour every day learning more about your health, or get creative with your usual programs to test yourself. You may not need a gym to do this.

Al Kavadlo adds: “We will not discourage him! In fact, Danny and I have been talking about the virtues of working out without a gym for years! So anyone who thinks they can’t work out without a gym is crazy! You don’t need much – or any equipment – to get in shape!”

If you are already fit and have no problems with pull-ups, Danny suggests: “at least ten strict pull-ups before you start building muscle, but each thing is different.”

Training my body to build muscle has completely changed my perception of body mechanics and the training regime. It was worth it and I hope you get the same value or even more than what I earned.
